Hi,

In the data sheet for the ADS921x (SBASA74B – JANUARY 2023 – REVISED MAY 2024) there is an example init-sequence which is not applicable for the ADS9218.

"The initialization sequence described in this section is not applicable for the ADS9218" 

What would be a proper init-sequence for the ADS9218, or what is the difference to the sequence stated there?

    Thank you for your question.

    Fully released devices, like the ADS9218, will no longer need the init-sequences. Since the ADS9218 was fully released to market in May 2024 the datasheet was updated to reflect this; the sequence remained on the datasheet because the ADS9217 & ADS9219 have not been released yet. Once all devices have been release there will be no need to keep the sequence on the datasheet and it will be removed all together. 

    That being said, if you do have devices from before the release of the ADS9218, the init-sequence is still needed, otherwise it can be skipped. 

    I can help confirm if your devices are pre or post release directly with you if needed.
