ADS131M08EVM: using EVM w/o a PHI board

Part Number: ADS131M08EVM

Tool/software:

Team,

Can you please help answer these questions:

My customer would like to use the main ADC board without the PHI board, therefore they just need to make sure the SPI interface can be driven from the pin header.  The documentation seems to suggest that it can.  Can you confirm?

Also, if they are not using the PHI board what would they have to provide to the ADC main board?

  • Power?
  • Clock?, etc.
  • The voltage input can be scaled by changing the voltage divider resistors on the board, right?

Thanks

Viktorija

  • Hi Viktorija,

    Please see the suggestions below:

    • AVDD, IOVDD power supplies
    • The master clock can come from external clock source Y1 on the EVM by using the JP10 jumper.
    • The internal voltage reference can be used.
    • Yes, the resistor divider on the EVM can be used.
    • The /SYNC/RESET pin has been pulled up to high with the R59 on the EVM.
    • Using /DRDY to retrieve the data is the best option.

    BR,

    Dale
