AFE5808A: AFE5808A

Part Number: AFE5808A

Tool/software:

I notice that on the AFE5808A evaluation board, digital voltages are carefully separated from analog voltages, but there is a single common ground.  Are the grounds (return current) for digital and analog voltages separate in the chip?  If so, are they connected in the packaging?  Or can they be kept completely separate at the board level?

  • Hi,

We recommend customers to use ground separation only when they are using demod feature in digital. Since AFE5808A does not have that feature our recommendation is to short both the grounds .

To answer your question they are weakly shorted in packaging. It is recommended to short in board for  AFE5808A device .
