ADC32RF45EVM: Question about “slau620e.pdf” User Guide.

This is a question from one of our customers.

The customer is trying to operate ADC32RF45EVM evaluation board based on “slau620e.pdf” User Guide.

They have a question regarding the description in Chapter 8.2.1 of the User Guide.

In this sections, there are instructions to "Unsolder" and "Solder", indicating soldering work.

However, the corresponding areas on the actual evaluation board are very narrow and intricate.

It seems very difficult to perform unsoldering or soldering in these areas.

Could you please provide advice on how to proceed with the soldering work?

Reference of slau620e.pdf / Chapter 8.2.1:

“Unsolder the two AC coupling caps from positions C409 and C410 and solder them into positions C431 and C432.”

Soldering/Unsoldering narrow pitch is difficult, so I would appreciate any good technical advice.

Hi Kazuhiko,

There is a lot of open room around these parts so I am not sure I understand the narrow pitch you are referring to - these parts are standard 0201 footprint size. Using a microscope for soldering is required. Many people cannot solder these and the solution is for somebody who is capable of working with 0201 to do the work. If you want, you can send the board to us and I can perform the soldering. Also, why choose ADC32RF45 device over ADC32RF55, which is much better performance?

Hi Kazuhiko-san,

If you cannot do the soldering to make these changes, please contact your local contract manufacture in order to do them. Otherwise, the other alternative, is to send the EVM back to us and we can make the soldering changes for you.
