ADS1278: how to configure delay between channels

Dears,

My customer is using ADS1278 in E-meter. They wanted to sample the I/V at the same time. But the CT/PT will have different time delay and cause the phase error when calculating power.

Thus, they want to adjust the time delay between channels. May you kindly help comments below question？

  1. It seems all ADC #CH of ADS1278 use the same clock and variant is very small. Could we set the delay for each #CHs via SW?
  2. If SW is not available, how to solve this problem? Add external RC filter?
  3. Do we have new device with this feature to promote?

    Hello Hugh,

    The ADS1278 does not include channel to channel phase delay feature.  You would need to account for phase differences in software.  You could also do this in analog, but this approach would likely not be flexible enough to account for CT/PT sensor tolerances.

    ADS131M08 does include channel to channel phase adjustments if maximum data rate of 32ksps and maximum bandwidth of about 8kHz is acceptable.
