ADS8588S: REGCAP1 and REGCAP2 coupled together

Part Number: ADS8588S

Tool/software:

Dear Experts,

We have designed a microcontroller card with ADS8588S on the board. We have recently learned that both the REGCAP1 and REGCAP2 were coupled together by mistake. I see the datasheet that both the pins are to be decoupled separately.  I would like to know if the ADC would work with the existing connection?

Regards,

Rajesh BN.

  • Hi Rajesh,

The ADS8588S will still work, however you may see some degradation in the performance of the chip.  If you have the chance to make hardware changes, I would ask you to follow the datasheet recommendation and bypass the two pins separately.
