Hi,

I am considering replacing the Microchip MCP3202T-BI.

The following are the selection criteria. The ADC122S021 would be suitable, but it is difficult to adopt because the power supply voltage is always about 5.5V.

Are there any TI products that can be used as replacements, including the power supply voltage conditions?

Selection criteria
・Resolution: 12bit
・Number of channels: 2ch
・Sampling rate：10K
・Error (INL, DNL): ±3~4
・Architecture: SAR
・Whether PGA is built-in: No
・Output interface: SPI
・Whether simultaneous sampling is available: No
・Reference built-in or external：External

    Hi Conor,

    I would expect the ADC122S021 to still be able to support a 5.5V supply, but I understand the operating conditions only specify up to 5.25V. 

    In that case, the ADS7230 seems to fulfill all your requirements. Here is the datasheet.

    Take a look and let me know if this would work for your application.

    Hi Joel,

    Compared to the ADC122S021, the ADS7230 is more expensive. If an external LDO is used to make the power supply voltage 5V, is it correct to understand that the ADC122S021 is the TI product that will provide the greatest cost savings under the above conditions? Please let me know if there are any other ICs you would recommend!

    Hi Conor,

    Yes, under the conditions above, the ADC122S021 is the lowest cost option, and an external LDO will likely provide you with additional cost savings compared to the ADS7230. If that is possible for your design, that would be my recommendation.
