DAC3482: VCO frequency range

Part Number: DAC3482

Tool/software:

Hello,

My customer would like to use DAC3482 with the following conditions.
DACCLK=107.52MHz
fDAC=107.52 x4 = 430.08MHz
Prescaler = /8
VCO frequency = 3440.64MHz.
So, the cause tuning bits are calculated 16 by the equation described in Figure 6-10 of the datasheet.
However, looking at datasheet 5.8, around this VCO frequency range, DAC3482 is tested at only 3500MHz.
Do all DAC3482 work at VCO frequency = 3440.64MHz?

Best regards,

K.Hirano

  • Hello Hirano-san,

    Very good to hear from you. Hope you are doing well.

    Please help advise the end customer for this product. HSC team may be interested in re-spinning this product and is in the process of gathering customer names.

    At the time of the DAC3482 test program update, as the VCO range near 3450 is at the lower end of the VCO code, we cannot ensure the DAC3482 test program can ensure 3450MHz test coverage with sufficient yield. Therefore, we cannot spec the test item for the DAC3482 at the time with VCO code tested at 3450MHz.

    We can only advise the customer to implement the following loop for 3440MHz operation.
