Yes it is possible to control the ADC board through USB you will have to interact with the FTDI chip on the board itself to control the SPI writes. Yes, installing the jumper J19 will switch the spi signals coming from the FMC+ connector instead of the USB, please check the evm schematic to see the exact pins it is routed to on the fmc+.

I didn't want to write to ADC because I don't need to. I actually want to interact with the clock chip so I can set the sampling rate. Also, can you please teach me how to control the ADC and clocking chip through FTDI? I didn's find the tutorial from the guide of the evaluation board.

Are you using the ADC in on board clocking mode?

We currently don't have any example code for interfacing with the board through ftdi in linux but I can provide an example for windows.
