AFE58JD48EVM: An error occurs when automatically launching the AFE58JD48 EVM GUI

Part Number: AFE58JD48EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE58JD48, , TSW14J50EVM

Tool/software:

Hi TI experts,

I am trying to use AFE58JD48EVM with TSW14J50EVM. I followed the steps described in section 4.2 of document SLOU521 and have chosen AFE58JD48 as target ADC  in TSW14J50 GUI, after updating the firmware, I encountered an error while booting the AFE58JD48EVM GUI with the following error message, by the way, my OS is win11.

Error 7 occurred at AFE58JD48.lvlib:HSDC Pro Version Check.vi->AFE58JD48.lvlib:Main.vi中的调用库函数节点
Possible reason(s): LabVIEW:  文件未找到。文件位置移动或文件被删除。使用命令提示符或文件浏览器,验证路径是否正确。

I made sure that everything was fine with my software installation process, and also copied the firmware and other files to the correct path as described on page 4 of the AFE58JD48-TSW14J50 transition instructions.pptx, and I tried several times to completely uninstall all the TI software tools before reinstalling them, but the results were unchanged. At last, I repeated the installation process using another PC with Win10, and the result was the same error at the AFE58JD48EVM GUI startup, but with a change in the error message:

why is this happening?

  • I also noticed that the power supply chips U2 and U10 on the AFE58JD48 EVM board were overheating to 100+ degrees Celsius. The power supply pins of the power supply chips are shorted to ground, is this because the AFE58JD48 did not complete the power-on reset process? If the AFE58JD48 EVM GUI is operational and completes the power-on reset process, can the power supply pins be properly connected to the load?

  • Hi,

Can you please check the output voltage of these U2 and U10 ? If there is issue with this you should not see expected output (3.3V and1.8V)

Which is the installation path for HSDC_PRO and AFE48JD48 EVM ?  We expect this to be in C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments

  • Hi Sachin,

The output voltage of these U2 and U10 is indeed not as expected and we have found some PCB soldering problems, thanks for the tipGrin
