AFE882H1: HART signal Pull up/Pull down

Part Number: AFE882H1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE88201

Tool/software:

Hi,

I'm planning to use AFE882H1 in project. As of now my aim is to use just DAC of it not the HART fuctionality of it which I'll use in near future.

For that, can I keep the below signals floating or I should be using Pull up/down resistors:

  1. RX_IN
  2. RX_INF
  3. MOD_OUT
  4. AIN0
  5. AIN1
  6. CD
  7. RTSn
  8. ALARMn(will not use now)
  9. UARTIN
  10. UARTOUT

Thanks,

Yogsh N

  • Yogesh,

Instead of using the AFE882H1 without the HART functionality, you could use the AFE88201 instead. This would be the same basic functionality without the HART modem. In case you want to look at it, here's a link to the product page:

If you do use the AFE882H1 but do not use the HART, I would generally try to connect the pins similar to how they are used. This is what I would do for the pins:

    1. RX_IN - Connect to ground through 2200pF capacitor
    2. RX_INF - Connect to ground through 680pF capacitor
    3. MOD_OUT - Connect to ground through 100kΩ resistor
    4. AIN0 - Connect to ground
    5. AIN1 - Connect to ground
    6. CD - Connect to ground through 100kΩ resistor
    7. RTSn - Connect to IOVDD through 100kΩ resistor
    8. ALARMn(will not use now) - Connect to IOVDD through 100kΩ resistor
    9. UARTIN - Connect to IOVDD through 100kΩ resistor
    10. UARTOUT - Connect to IOVDD through 100kΩ resistor
