DAC8551: DAC8551 related issues

Part Number: DAC8551

Tool/software:

Hello,

The output voltage range of DAC8551 is 0-3.3V, and the external voltage reference voltage is 3.3V. The ADC output is connected to an operational amplifier, amplifying the output voltage from 0-5V. The DAC data register is written as 0, and the DAC output voltage is 5mV, which cannot output 0V. The accuracy does not meet the design requirements. Please help analyze the reason.

Thanks!

  • Hello,

Is the only issue that the output is 5mV at zero-code? Our datasheet shares that the zero-code error is 6mV typical, and up to 12mV max. The value you are seeing is within spec.

You will also see some additional errors at zero-code and full-code if your external op amp supplies are ground and 5V.

    Best,

    Katlynne Jones
