Tool/software:
Hello,
I just caught an issue in a design that has the RESV1 floating - Would this cause the ADS1298 to not operate correctly? What are the implications of this pin being left floating?
I don't see anything in the datasheet about this other than that the pin must be grounded.
Thanks!
Hello Jordon,
Thank you for your post.
Leaving the RESV1 pin floating will not inherently prevent the ADS1298 from operating normally. This is an unused digital input pin. However, we cannot guarantee that the device will always operate normally, as leaving the pin floating can introduce an undefined state in the digital. It's best to correct this mistake. If you are using unipolar supplies (i.e. AVSS = GND), you could short pins 31 and 32 until you are able to correct the mistake in the PCB design.
Regards,
Ryan
