ADS122C04: Current Consumption at power up

Part Number: ADS122C04

Tool/software:

Dear Specialists,

My customer is interested in ADS122C04 and has a question about current consumption at power up.

I would be grateful if you could advise.

---

According to the datasheet, there are various modes for the analog (IAVDD) and digital (IDVDD) current consumption, and each has a different value.

In which mode is it operating at power up?

Could you please let us know the current consumption of ADS122C04 at power up?

ーーー

I appreciate your great help in advance.

Best regards,

Shinichi

  • Hi Shinichi Inoue

You can review the information in the Register Map section (8.6) to see what are the default settings for the ADS122C04

I have copied some of the register settings below so you can see that the default configuration of the ADS122C04 is:

    • PGA enabled, gain = 1
    • Normal mode
    • Internal VREF is selected
    • IDACs are off

When the device powers up, the ADC is not converting and is in a low power state. The ADC should consume a few uA of current in this mode. Then, when the user starts converting, the supply currents shown in the electrical characteristics table apply
