ADS1298ECGFE-PDK: Occurred ECG waves are not in the expected form

Part Number: ADS1298ECGFE-PDK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1298

Tool/software:

Hi

When trying to capture ECG waveform using ADS12988/8r Evaluation software ECG waves are not in proper form as expected. here, i have attached the picture of captured waveform. Addition , cardio Sim III used as simulator and 5 lead cable was used to fetch Lead I, Lead II, Lead III, aVR,aVL and aVF.

  • Hi Nandy,

Have you reviewed the electrode connections in the ADS1298ECGFE-PDK User Guide? We have assumed a specific order of electrode connections to the DB15 connector when we mapped the electrodes to ECG channels.

Please export the complete register settings table and a mark up of any EVM jumpers which differ from the default settings.

    Regards,

    Ryan

  • Hello Ryan,

The ECG cable we are using is 5 lead ECG cable, which has RA, LA, LL, V1, and N. Is there a way to use 5 lead cables in ADS1298? I have attached the picture of register settings. On comparing the register map of software and the register map picture in the user guide, I have found a difference where I couldn't set the 3 register (address 0x17, 0x18, 0x19) values. Also, the ECG cable schematic is not clear in the document I have. And also, I couldn't clearly view the test signals (when setting channel input as the test signal), which get overlapped though I have set the ECG separation to 5 mV.
