Replace AFE5805 with AFE5808

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE5805, AFE5808

Hi

I want to replace AFE5805 with AFE5808 in one of my project. What are all the things that i'll have to consider before proceeding???

  • Hi Jithesh,

As you might know,  AFE5808 is a higher performance, albeit slightly higher cost,  AFE than the AFE5805.  It is better in almost every way.  Lower Noise, Higher SNR, Higher resolution and faster ADC, better LPF, more features and more flexibility.  The downsides would be the cost, slightly higher power consumption (122 vs. 136 mw/ch), and less flexible PGA gain (although the LNA gain is more flexible).

The package remains the same, although the pinout is completely different and would require a redesign of your board.

I will try to find some other downsides to the AFE5808.

Also, What is your need date?  Do you work for a specific company?  Would you like to continue the discussion through e-mail?

    Thanks,

    Chuck Smyth
