I have seen some documentation that indicates the output range of this series is 1 - 13 volts and others (the full data sheet) say 1 - 16 volts. The above app note indicates the part will provide -1 to -13 volts on the output in the inverting buck-boost configuration. I am looking for a +/- 16 volt output at well under 100ma from a 24V input and was hoping to use one of these parts as a buck converter and another as an inverting buck-boost converter. Other parts I have seen can support their full output range in either buck or inverting buck-boost mode, is there something in this converter that limits the inverting output to only -13 volts?

I'm not too sure what specifically limits the output to 13V or 16V, but I can find out. I suspect it has something with the different MOSFETs between the 150mA and 600mA versions of the converter. It is possible that the output voltage is throttled in the higher current versions to protect the switches.

I would definitely want to know if the -13 volt limit is actual or a misprint and whether it applies to the 100ma and 150ma versions.

The main reason there is a difference between the output voltage maximums is due to the inductor inside of the module, which will affect the internal slope compensation and peak-to-peak current ripple.

OK, is there another small package module that will allow me to have +/-16V out at about 100ma with a 24V supply using the same module?

TPSM365R15 is 3-65Vin with a 16Vout and 150mA, so it should be ok.
