DAC38J82: DAC SYNC

Part Number: DAC38J82
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC3482, DAC3484

Tool/software:

Hi TI Experts,

My own board has 2 dacs, one DAC3482 clocked by LMX01000 and one DAC38J82 clocked by LMX04828. How to SYNC the output of the two DACs?

Thanks,

Terry

  • Hey Terry,

The DAC38J82 is a JESD204B compliant DAC. It can have deterministic latency by use of subclass 1 operation. You would need to calibrate for this deterministic latency to synchronize it to the system.

The DAC3484 uses an SYNC input to synchronize the input data.

Both DACS can interpolate and interpolation adds its own latency. So both DACs can have a deterministic latency that can be calibrated out.

    Regards,

    Matt
