ADC34J23EVM: ADC3000 GUI cannot find FTDI device

Part Number: ADC34J23EVM

Tool/software:

Hi TI support,

I am using the ADC34J23EVM board, and trying to access the ADC/LMK registers using the ADC3000 GUI (version: 1.2, build date: 02/23/2022), but the software is not able to connect to the board and I get the following error message:

I run the FT_PROG software by FTDI and am able to detect the FTDI FT245 chip:

I tried all possible measures to debug: uninstalled FTDI driver, downloaded the latest version and installed it; tried another USB port, etc, but all to no avail. I have downloaded the ADC3000 GUI software from the ADC34J23EVM product page under 'Order & start development (SLAC667)'. Is there a later version of the GUI software available?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Sukhdeep Oberoi

  • Hi Sukhdeep,

It seems the EEPROM contents for this EVM is not correct. Please see below. Change the USB String Descriptors for the Product Description to ADC34Jxx. Once done, right click on the respective Device: # and click Program device. It will flash and say program successful on the bottom bar. Then physically disconnect and reconnect the USB. If you cannot physically reconnect the USB, you can also restart the PC. Do not press the program icon from the task bar as it will reprogram all of the connected devices you have, which you may not want to do. Right clicking the device and pressing program is the safe way to reprogram a single FTDI device's eeprom contents.

    Thanks

  • Hi Chase,

I appreciate your detailed response. I was able to get it working after re-programming the USB device.

    Thank you!
