ADS1232: ADS1232 Communication with the MCU is abnormal

Part Number: ADS1232

Tool/software:

Dear

There are a total of 10pcs boards, of which 6pcs boards, the communication between MCU and ADS1232 is abnormal, which is as follows:
1, the Speed mode setting is 0 (refer to the schematic diagram), the conversion time written by the program code is 100ms

2. Actual test situation:
OK's board is 99.65ms, functioning normally.

NG board is 10.86ms, the communication is abnormal, and the correct value cannot be read.

1. What causes the different performance of "conversion time" on different boards?
2. How to locate and solve this problem?
3. Help check whether there are any shortcomings in the schematic diagram?

8.4.5 Power-Up Sequence”   PWDN I am not connected to the MCU IO control, it is directly pull-up 10K, According to this requirement, PWDN can only be realized by connecting to MCU IO.

  • Hi liu billy,

Our support is limited during the holiday here in the US, please expect a response most likely later this week, but early next week at the latest

  • Hello Liu Billy,

Yes, the ADC can behave unexpectedly if the power-up sequence is not followed.  Would it be possible for the customer to control the PWDN pin with the MCU and duplicate the required timing specified in Figure 8-15 and Table 8-13 to confirm that this is the root cause of the problem?
