Part Number: TLC04

Tool/software:

Hi,

Good day.

Customer claimed that they encountered solder test failed on received parts (PN#TLC04ID) which with extended shelf life (DC1952+5). See attached test report.

Therefore, they would like to clarifying this issue with TI whether is valid or not.

Could you please review and advise?

  • Hi Kent,

To be honest, I am not familiar with this particular test.  The TLC04 is an 8 pin package though, not 5 as noted in the test report so perhaps that is the issue?  Do you know what the top side marking is on the parts they have?  DC1952 implies it is from the last week of the year 2019.  The +5 is shelf life, so the end of 2024.  It's possible that they have exceeded the storage time or at least hit the limit.  Have they tried re-tinning the devices?

  • Hi Tom,

Kindly find below customer comments and advise. Thank you.

Please ignore the typo error in filling up the number of leads in the report. The typo is not related to the part being failed in our solderability test.

Kindly refer to the photo as attached for your reference.

All the test samples had failed to wet and dip into the solder pool; thus, we cannot accept this lot. Please expedite to provide disposition for this part.

    Thanks.

    Regards,

    Kent
