Tool/software:

I want to use an external 5V reference with the DAC8565.

By default the internal reference is enabled at 2.5V.

Do I need a circuit to disable the internal reference with a serial command and then connect the external 5V reference to the VREFH/VREFOUT pins?

    Hi Yamada-san, 

    You do not need to use an enable/enable circuit for your external reference as long as you disable the internal reference immediately after startup. You can use a series current limiting resistor between the external reference and the VREF pin to limit the current while both references are powered on. Typically, 10mA is a safe value.
