The following equivalent circuits are copied from the datasheets for the ADS8861 and ADS8881
Notice that there is just one switch, and so it seems the implication is that the sampling capacitor holds it charge between samples. This is not unusual, the advantage is that for a smooth input the difference from sample to sample can be small. There are however ADCS that do discharge the sampling capacitor between samples.
So, I would like to confirm that the behavior for these TI parts is that the capacitor is not discharged between samples.
