ADS8028: AVDD and DVDD: power-on power supply sequence

Part Number: ADS8028

Tool/software:

I wish to use the ADS8028 to interface external signals on the analog side, with a xilinx FPGA connected to the digital side.
Due to the FPGA Power-On/Off Power Supply Sequencing, I want provide immediately AVDD (5V), and, only later, i will provide DVDD, 3,3V (at the end of FPGA power-on sequence)
I need to know if the ADS8028 can work in this way, or, if problems can arise in the short period in which power supply is provided only on AVDD pin.

thank you in advance for your help.

  • Hi Roberto,

If you review the ABS MAX section of the ADS8028 datasheet (page 2) you will see that there is a restriction of DVdd against AVdd.  In your case, bringing AVdd (5V) up ahead of DVdd is perfectly fine.  There should be no issues bringing DVdd up after your AVdd is established.
