AMC7834: To Reduce the Clamp shutdown delay as 50ns instead of 5us

Part Number: AMC7834
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE20408, , AFE10004

Tool/software:

In my application , I need to  switch the Clamp voltage from -4V (AVss) to -1.4V (DAC programmable Voltage) with in 50ns . But in datasheet they have given the specification as 5 us (Clamp shutdown delay).

Is there any possiblities to reduce the timiming by using any GPIOs?

Also Provide the reason for why it is taking 5us delay for this switching?

  • Hi,

Unfortunately, there is no way to reduce the delay to 50ns. The delay is caused by latency in the internal switching architecture.

We have a few faster devices, such as the AFE10004 (50ns) and the AFE20408 (500ns max) that you can take a look at. The AFE10004 might be your best bet for fast switching, but it's quite different from the AMC7834.

    Thanks,
    Erin
