ADC3669EVM: Inconsistant Board Revision Documentation (RevA vs RevB vs RevC)

Part Number: ADC3669EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC3669, TSWDC155EVM

Tool/software:

We're evaluating the ADC3669EVM module and how it could be integrated into our application.

The documentation has a confusing mix of RevA, RevB, and RevC boards.

The images and user guide PDF (SBAU441) on the https://www.ti.com/tool/ADC3669EVM listing show the RevA board.

But the "ADC3669EVM Design Files" link contains mostly RevC source files with some RevB files as well (and no RevA files).

The layout of RevA is significantly different from RevB, and RevC but it's not clear what was changed.

So my questions are:

  • What changed from RevA to RevB to RevC?
    • The "Revision History" in the RevC schematics only says RevA was "Used for preproduction sampling" and RevB was "Released at RTM for production evaluation" but says nothing for RevC...
  • What revision will we receive if we order this?
  • Is there an updated user manual for the RevC board?
  • Hi Jason,

Just so I am clear, you haven't purchased the ADC3669 EVM?

If you purchase one now, you will receive a REVC.

REVA, had both an active amplifier frontend and passive band frontend options on the board when we initially released it.

We found a few errors, so we decided to re-release the board with only a passive balun frontend and then found a boo-boo in the spi circuitry on the readback.

All these errors are addressed in REVC.

Once you acquire the ADC3669EVM and the TSWDC155EVM for data capture, we will send you a SW/FW package to get you going.

    Regards,

    Rob

  • Correct. We have not yet purchased an ADC3669 EVM. We're evaluating it amongst other options.

    Thanks for the clarifications :)
