Tool/software:

Target application: to achieve PWM current source, 5mA/0.5ms, 20mA/0.5ms, 1KHz PWM.

schematic: VDD=3.3V, MOSFET gsth = 0.9V, Rset = 51ohm, use internal reference.

software: spi setting output 5mA, and after 0.5ms refresh spi setting output 20mA......

Question:

1) does it works or not from above?

2) what's the difference between DAC53204 and DAC53204W? Can I use DAC53204?

Hi Liping,

The difference is the package size. DAC53204W is WCSP package, and the other is QFN package. You plan to toggle the current via SPI? This will work.

I think I misunderstood in your last question about the 1kHz pulse. If you want to apply this to the GPI pin to toggle the output from 10mA to 20mA then yes you can do that. This device also has a GPI pin that can be used to toggle the output.

That's good to use GPI pin, but not sure how to use it.

Can I send 1KHz PWM to GPI from MCU?

Then the output can be config as 5mA/20mA cyclic (500us)

Any special setting? GPIO pin is the same pin of SPI SDO

Hi Liping,

If you use the pin as SDO for SPI then you cannot use it as a GPIO pin. The SDO pin is disabled by default, so in the GPIO-CONFIG register you can enable the pin as a general-purpose input for margin high margin low trigger, and select which channels you want it to affect:
