Hello,

I have been using the control package provided through this post. I am having issues with the read register function since some registers such as the CHIP_TYPE Register at address 0x003 on the ADC12DL3200 are not returning their expected values on reset or power cycle, (in this case it should return 0x3 instead the read register function returns 0x0). There are many registers that have the same issue where a non-zero value should be returned but 0x0 is always returned.

I appreciate any assistance or advice that can be provided.

I've just retested this again on a couple of boards in the lab and it seems to be fine. Can you try this updated package and see what the print statements show? All I've done is connect 5V and a USB cable. No clocks or anything needed for the SPI to readback.

Can you check that the JP3 is shorted and not open?

Thanks for your assistance. I have confirmed that JP3 is shorted. I ran the script you provided and had the following output:

This seems like some hardware issue to me. Does the board work through the GUI? I would expect that it does not.

Can you probe these supplies?

VA19 (TP21)
VA11 (TP24)
VD11 (TP23)
VDDL19 (TP19)
VDDD33 (TP28)

I can modify one for the DAC in a bit.

I probed and measured expected values for all of those test points (TP21 = 1.9V, TP24 = 1.1V, TP23 = 1.1V, TP19 = 1.9V, TP28 =3.3V)
