Hi, I'm using AMC131M03 and ADS131M04 for voltage and current sensing and measurements. are there any SPI driver files or any example file using SPI configuration is available for these two devices.

since both the devices are controlled by SPI communication only. I'm going to control both the devices using single SPI, if anything is available it will be helpful.

Can you provide some more details on your application?

There is some metrology code available on TI.com that can be used to pull SW from.

You can find the metrology code in the MSPM0 SDK. This code can be accessed through code composer studio, which can be downloaded from ti.com. You can also go through the online dev tool and access it.

can u help me to find the address of the 3 channels in AMC131M03 and 4 channels ADS131M04, to read the digital data through spi. I can't be able to find the correct address to configure and read the data. unless I have figured out other address like mode, clock, gain and dcdc control register. i can't able to find the read address for of adc data of both the devices.

Hi Srinath,

Are you asking about how to read the ADC conversion data? If so, you can send the NULL command, in which the conversion data is sent right after the response.

still for confirmation i am asking, is there any specific read address is there for reading all the channels in the AMC131M03 and ADS131M04 or just a NULL command only to read the digital data.

Hi Srinath,

The ADC data doesn't go into a register that can be read. The latest conversion data is stored in a buffer, which gets transferred over SPI when using the NULL command.

thank u for ur answers,

if we read the data through null command, each channel consist of 24bits, so for 3 channels I have to send 72bit null data to get back the 72bit digital data in a single spi frame.

Hi Srinanth,

Yes you will need to clock out enough bits to read all the channel conversion data. Please take a look at section 8.5.1.7: 'SPI Communication Frames' of the datasheet. Communication with the device typically happens with frames of 5 words, and you should read the full frame when communicating.
