Hi Joseph,
Can you give us more details on what you are seeing to lead you to this conclusion?
Regards,
Geoff
thanks for the response.
i have solved the problem with a bit of guesswork. the FS_RANGE is a 16 bit value. the ls byte was written to register 0x30 and the ms byte to 0x31. (where does it say in the document? i could not locate)
this changes the gain alright. But there is a follow up action required that the data sheet/documentation does not mention.
could you say what that is?

joseph
Joseph,
This is implied as each register address space address is only 8 bits. I'll bring this to the attention of the people that do the datasheets.

Geoff
also, if you simply change the gain/Full Scale setting, the ADC data becomes noisy.
one needs to initiate a (re)calibration (i was not running the background cal to save power and avoid the glitch that it causes) to get the ADC to produce clean signals.
this is also not mentioned in the documentation.

joseph
Hi Joseph,
Here is where this is indicated in the datasheet.
We indicate that the LSB byte at the lowest address.
9.5.4 SDI
Each register access requires a specific 24-bit pattern at this input. This pattern consists of a read-and-write
(R/W) bit, register address, and register value. The data are shifted in MSB first and multi-byte registers are
always in little-endian format (least significant byte stored at the lowest address).
