Hi, 

I recently purchased the ADS1299EEG-FE with part number of 296-34948-ND and when I connect the adapter, it becomes extremely hot. After testing the board with a multimeter and oscilloscope, it appears that the circuit isn’t functioning correctly and isn't powering up properly. I'm using the recommended adapter and have also tried other compatible ones, but the issue persists. Additionally, the ADS1299 IC itself gets very hot within a few seconds, and my computer does not recognize the board at all.

Is there any way to resolve this issue? What could be the possible causes? Is this something that can be fixed easily?

    Can you please upload a high-resolution photo of the EVM-PDK so we can review all jumper connections on the MMB0 and ADS1299 daughterboard?

    Also, what are the output specifications of the power adapter which you are using? Can you confirm that the adapter is one you acquired separately?

    Thanks for your reply.

    I’ve attached a high-resolution photo of the board showing the current jumper setup. For my electrode configuration, I left pins 1 to 16 on the J6 header unjumpered.

    The issue I'm facing is that the ADS1299 IC gets extremely hot within seconds of powering on, the board isn't recognized by my PC, and there's a noticeable burning smell. I'd really appreciate any feedback or suggestions for a solution.

    Also, the power adapter is 6V DC, 2A. I bought it separately, but it matches the specs in the user guide.

    I cannot access the file you posted. Can you paste the image directly into the post?

    Please disconnect all other equipment from the EVM-MMB0 and return all jumpers to their default location (see Figure 1 and Section 2.5 of the User Guide). I also suggest to check that the header pins on the MMB0 mother board are properly aligned with the receptacles on the bottom of the EVM daughter board. You might also check for a short-circuit between the boards in case something is making an incidental contact.
