ADS1299: Schematic review for 4 channel single ended measurement with ESP32

Part Number: ADS1299

Tool/software:

Could you please help review this schematic for connecting a single ended ADS1299 connected to a ESP32-pico for 4 channel EMG measurements? It will be powered by a 3.7 V lithium battery, and 3.3V will be generated using a voltage regulator and the 5V using a charge pump. We were trying to achieve a minimal footprint.

  • Hello - thank you for your post.

The schematic connections look ok. I would avoid the use of a charge-pump or any switching regulator for the analog supply. This can affect the noise performance of the ADCs. It is best to boost the supply to ~5.5V and then use an LDO to regulate a cleaner 5V AVDD supply.

Please refer to the ADS1299 data sheet and EVM User Guide for more guidelines on component selection and PCB layout.

    Regards,

    Ryan
