AFE882H1EVM: AFE882H1EVM Supporting

Part Number: AFE882H1EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB2ANY, AFE881H1EVM, DAC8811EVM

Tool/software:

Hello

We are working with AFE evaluation board P/N: AFE882H1EVM (TI).

We traing to update the DAC output voltage using Application, it constantly shows the 2.54V on V_OUT TP not related to DAC_DATA value.

Thank you

Elisha

  • Elisha,

How do you have the AFE881H1EVM connected? Can you also post a picture of your EVM just to see the power and jumper connections? Note that the default settings of the EVM does not require any external power supply. The EVM should work with only the ribbon cable connected to the EVM and power is sourced from the USB2ANY.

I don't know of any case where the output goes to 2.54V. Is the reference voltage measuring 1.25V?

  • Elisha,

If you've been working with an FAE on this issue, I think I've gotten an email from him on this. At this point, I think this may be a driver download/install problem, but I wasn't able to get it working at the end of the week. I'll try working on this again on Monday.

  • Elisha,

I was able to get the EVM to work on my laptop by making sure that the driver was installed. This is a driver for the FTDI device on the board. Just to be sure, uninstalled the AFE88xH1EVM GUI from my laptop to start. Then I re-installed it. Make sure the EVM is not connected to the computer during the install.

After that, the EVM worked correctly.

The FTDI driver install was mistakenly omitted from the install package, so a separate install should clean up the problem. One option is to download the GUI for another EVM that uses the same drivers. You can download the GUI for the DAC8811EVM (which uses the FT4222H) which has the option to install the same drivers. You can find the DAC8811EVM GUI download here:

Let me know if this helps you.

  • Elisha,

Sorry, my original post used the wrong name for you. I had written a similar message for an FAE, who I think may be working with you.
