AFE4460: AFE4460 with STM32 - Can't Power LED Using Example Code on Custom PCB

Part Number: AFE4460

Tool/software:

Hi TI team,

I’m working with the AFE4460 on a custom PCB and interfacing it with an STM32 microcontroller. I’ve verified that the SPI read/write functions are working correctly — I can read back register values. I’ve also checked the hardware connections multiple times and they all seem fine.

However, when I try to use the example code provided (specifically to power on the LED use the TXP pins), nothing happens — the LED stays off.

Best regards,

Jiajin Hou

  • Hi Jiajin,

Are you following the initialization sequence?

If you are already following that sequence or it doesn't resolve your error:

    • Verify that the supply lines all have the expected voltage level
    • Verify that the device is successfully generating interrupts to ensure device functionality

  • Thanks Payton,

    Now It's working.

I'm trying to find out if it's possible to wire a TXP and eight TXNs to two LED drivers at the same time, as shown in the diagram. Because I found in the AFE_set_phaseType function that I can only connect one TXP and two TXNs.

    Regards,

    Jiajin

  • Hello Jiajin,

Since the AFE4460 datasheet is under NDA restriction, any more in-depth questions will need to be handled over email. I'll reach out to you there with my response.

    Regards,

    Payton
