Hi Michael,
Thanks for your post. Please find the description from the datasheet as below:
I hope this helps.
Best regards,
Samiha
I know this it is in the data sheet. What control signals do I need to read the upper byte??? Does CS need to go high to low between byte reads????
What signals are necessary to do the upper byte read. It has to be more then just bringing BYTE HIGH because I am doing that and get the same byte twice. Must CS toggle???
Hi Michael,
So you are bringing BYTE high and you are seeing bits 7 to 0 twice on pins DB7-DB0?
Looking at the above timing diagram, it looks like /CS is also being toggled. Note (3) on page 6 of the datasheet makes it sound like /RD does not need to be toggled though. Let me know if toggling /CS shows D15 to D8 on pins DB7 to DB0.
Are you looking at single channel, parallel interface, 500ksps ADCs? What is your input voltage range? I can see if I can suggest a newer ADC if you let me know what your requirements are.
Best regards,
Samiha
Samiha,
I noticed that in the timing diagram but did not know if the toggle of CS is necessary when the BYTE signal goes HIGH.
I will have to do some board rework as we have CS tied to GND. I will let you know next week if that works.
Our input range is 0-10 volts. We use your INA157 to get a G of 1/2. What is the different ADC you suggest.
Michael,
If you are okay with SPI interface instead of parallel, you could try our new ADS8681W: https://www.ti.com/product/ADS8681W
The ADS8685 would also work here: https://www.ti.com/product/ADS8685
