DAC81404EVM: need to evaluate custom waveform from csv. does this evm work with DXP EVM GUI?

It does not. The DXP EVM GUI system is not easy to get running in newer Windows, and we do not use it on any newer EVMs. 

The DAC81404EVM uses an on board FTDI controller chip (FT4232 USB to serial bridge) to communicate with the DAC. Outside of the DAC814xx GUI we also provide a python library to interface with the EVM. You should be able to use this as a starting point for your custom waveform generation eval.
