ADS1235: Maximum VOL of ADS1235 is greater than required.

Part Number: ADS1235
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO7221M

Tool/software:

Maximum VOL of ADS1235 = 5.25V x 0.2 = 1.05V, Refer Datasheet section “6.5 Electrical Characteristics”

Considering maximum operating voltage.

As we are interfacing ADS1235 with ISO7221 IC which VIL (max.) is 0.8V.

How it will work or Can actual ADS1235 VOL max. is less than specified inthe datasheet?

Kinldy help to resolve the same.

  • Hello Ramdas,

You are correct, there is a mismatch in requirements if operating the ADS1235 digital supply at 5V with the Iso7221 A, B, and C versions.  If you operate ADS1235 at 3.3V, then the IO levels will be compatible.  Otherwise, use the ISO7221M version, which has wider threshold levels compatible with the ADS1235 and DVDD=5V.
