TX7516: Supply pins when using as 3 level puser

Tool/software:

Hello,

My customer has a question for TX7516.
When using it as a 3 leve pulser, is it OK to leave floating unnecessary supply pins (when using Group A, AVDDP_HV_B and AVDDM_HV_B are the pins. When using Group B,  AVDDP_HV_A and AVDDM_HV_A are the pins)?

If any spcific termination is required, please let me know.

Regards,
Oba

  • Hi Oba,

When group B is used, A side has to have supply connected and it should be greater than or equal to the B side supply (this is a mandatory requirement). When group A is used, floating B side supply will lead to higher parasitic capacitance at the output compared to the scenario where both A and B are shorted, which will lead to higher power dissipation.

Considering the above, our recommendation in this case would be to short the A and B supplies, for 3-level applications.

    Thanks and Regards
