TLC339: Technical Assistance Required ------ P/N: TLC339IDR

Part Number: TLC339

Tool/software:

Hello Team,

I hope you are doing good. One of our customers purchased 100 units of TLC339IDR and requested 8D report with following complaint.

---------------

We have identified 10 defective ICs on our HP3070 tester. For these ICs, Comparator 4 (pins 10, 11, 13) exhibits a continuous high or low level at output pin 13, irrespective of the input level applied to pins 10 and 11.

---------------

We later asked them if they have tested all 100 units? Also if they can provide pictures of the issue. They stated the following,

--------------

So far, we've installed 74 units, 10 of which were defective. The remaining 26 units are not yet installed. Since the remaining 26 units are not yet installed, we cannot currently provide an estimate of the total number of affected parts. Therefore we cannot share pictures because of the electrical damage.

--------------

Apart from the continuous high or low level at output pin 13, part comes from DC: 2317. Which makes it out of warranty. Customer is willing to cover the cost of FA.

Please advise if any troubleshooting can help customer without FA? Thank you.

Best,

Usman

Thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear about the problem.  The pins you are mentioning are all related to channel 4.  Can you provide a schematic for us to review?  I realize this may be proprietary, so I will also reach out offline so you can provide directly.  Since we will most likely handle this offline, I will go ahead and close out this thread.

Likewise, can you provide picture of the shipping label of the parts.  I can see that this device underwent a PCN 20231219016 in late 2023.  If you can provide the shipping label, I can identify if the material in question is pre or post PCN
