Dear TI Team,
We are using a step down convertor in our design and planning to do estimate power consumption of this IC.
Request you to share the Current consumption details of the Step Down Convertor IC (P/N :TPS62132RGTR) along with a reference image.
Input voltage needs to be greater than the output voltage atleast by 500mV,

Firstly, to get an output voltage of 3.3V you need to give min input voltage as 4V.
Power consumption estimation is calculated with the help of efficiency,
As Efficiency = output power/input power
As output current = 3A and Vout = 3.3V
so output power = 3*3.3 = 9.9W
For seeing efficiency of the IC with respect to output current and input voltage, you can check our webench tool.

For regular input voltage = 12V
You will find the values of different parameters in webench like this
As Efficiency = 89.2% for Vin = 12V, Iout = 3.3A
we can calculate Input power as follows,
0.892 = 9.9/input power
input power = 11.098W
So power consumption = input power - output power
= 11.098 - 9.9
= 1.198W
