Hi - Can you tell me what the frequency is of the internal oscillator for the AMC7823? I do not see that in the data sheet. Also, can it be turned off? Thanks much

Hi Paul,
It will take some time me to get the oscillator frequency value. The oscillator is not able to be turned off.
What do you require the oscillator be turned off for? It controls the ADC and SPI timing.
Thanks,
Erin
Hi Erin - I'm still interested in knowing the internal clock frequency for the AMC7823. I'm hunting down some spurs and that information would be really useful.
To answer your question: I wanted to turn off the internal clock after the DACs were set, based on ADC measurements. I'm making a low noise current source and this clock is the only clock on the board. If I could disable it, that would have been great - I understand that this is not possible. I'm seeing some spurs now and wanted to distinguish which are from the AMC7823 clock and which are external signals. Can you find the clock frequency for me? Thanks much!
Hi Paul,
I'll see if I can find out the frequency, I'll update you in a few days.
Thanks,
Erin
Hi Paul,
Our old documentation says the nominal oscillator value is 6MHz. Hopefully this is helpful!
Thanks,
Erin
Yes - this is useful. Thanks so much for finding this data. You can close this issue.
