ADC3644: RAMP Test Pattern

Part Number: ADC3644

Tool/software:

Hello, I am attempting to use the RAMP test pattern function on the ADC3644 but cannot figure out what to write to each register, nor what the output pattern is supposed to look like. Currently I am writing the following:

0x14: 0b00000100 (for 16-bit)

0x15: 0b00000000

0x16: 0b01001000

I am getting an output that I am not sure how to interpret. Any help in case I am conducting this test incorrectly would be very helpful. Thank you.

  • Hi Felipe,

The register writes you listed above are correct. Please ensure the following are completed in this order:

    1. You are providing the ADC a sample clock beofre programming through SPI
    2. You have followed the configuration steps found in Table 8-9 in the Datasheet.
    3. You write the above values to registers 0x14, 0x15, and 0x16

The output pattern will be a 16-bit ramp pattern with a step size of 1. That is, the ramp will increase by 1 every sample.

    Best,

    Luke Allen
