ADS7038: Analog input applied much before ADC supply is available

Hi TI Experts,

I have a customer use case where customer is using the ADC to measure battery and input supply voltages.

The analog input voltages are available much before the ADC AVDD is applied.

Can you confirm if the above conditions are allowed with the ADC?

Are there any care that customer needs to take care.

Hi Sreenivasa,

The analog inputs to the device should not be present before AVDD is present. There is a risk of damaging the internal ESD diodes in this condition. If the analog input voltage is expected to exceed AVDD, I recommend external protection diodes to clamp this voltage.
