DAC1282: Maximum output frequency of DAC1282

Part Number: DAC1282

Tool/software:

Dear team,

I'm planning to use DAC1282 for one of my electronic experiments. May I know about maximum output frequency of the analog output that can be obtained when the DAC is used in DC mode. My application requires a very high resolution and a minimum output frequency of 200 Hz. Can DAC1282 support the requirements when used in DC mode?

  • Hello Anoop,

The DAC1282 has an inherit low-pass frequency response, shown in Figure 47.  The -3dB bandwidth is 8.2kHz.  Yes, you could generate a 200Hz sinewave in DC mode by continuously updating the DC value from a lookup table.  The practical maximum frequency would be around 15kHz, but this would require external gain amplifier since the the output will be attenuated by about -12dB.
