DAC80502: The humanoid robot customer is extremely anxious about the application issue of the chip

Part Number: DAC80502

Tool/software:

It is used to control the current at the back end.  Now the chip id can be read, but there is no voltage output after configuration.  Please help check where the problem lies in the software Settings and explain in detail how to modify it.  This issue is the most important

At the same time, could you please help check the schematic diagram? Thank you!

  • Hi Tony,

The schematic looks ok. What is the VCC_LED voltage level? This shouldn't be a problem as long as it's greater than 3.3V.

The setting for the GAIN register is correct. Does the readback of this register come back correctly? Can you check the driver to make sure this is being written to register 0x04?

What is the readback of the STATUS register?

Is the SYNC register still set to the default of 0x0300?

    Best,

    Katlynne Jones

  • Can you also measure the voltage on the VREFIO pin?

  • VCC_LED 5.022V
    VREFIO 2.514V
    DEVID 0x0215
    GAIN 0x0003
    STATUS 0x0000
    SYNC 0x0300

    Please help take a look.

  • Hi Tony,

There's not much to go off of here. The registers look correct. Can they also read back from the data register to make sure the write went through? Can you confirm the driver is writing to the correct registers?

Can they measure the I2C write on a scope and share a screenshot?

VREFIO is a bit high. Have they been able to set the output voltage on any other devices or boards? Or do all fail?

    Best,

    Katlynne Jones
