Tool/software:
Hello,
I have a design that measures a 1k ohm wheatstone bridge c/w strain gauge using the current excited method. We are thinking about adding another strain gauge bridge but we do not have a spare reference input as the other is being used by an RTD circuit.
Is it possible / recommended to measure the two bridges from the same input? My idea is to multiplex the 1mA current source through both bridges, however, right now the reference is the 1V drop across the bridge created by the 1 mA current source. As I would be connecting the second wheatstone bridge to the same reference point the current source splits and excites both bridges simultaneously giving me a 0.5V reference instead of a 1 V reference.
Is there any other way to measure this? I've attached the potential schematic below.
Thanks
