TPS25751: Time from reset release to completion of EEPROM initialization

Part Number: TPS25751

Hello,

I would like to ask about the power-up and initialization timing of the TPS25751S.
After reviewing the datasheet and technical documentation, I could not find specific information for the following items:

  1. Power-on reset voltage (threshold for POR assertion and de-assertion)

  2. Power-down reset voltage (threshold for reset re-assertion during power drop)

  3. Internal reset delay time (time from reaching valid supply voltage to reset release)

  4. Time from reset release until the device finishes loading and initializing data from the external EEPROM

According to the documentation, the TPS25751S loads a configuration image from an external EEPROM over I²C during boot.
For our design, we would like to estimate the approximate duration of this boot and initialization process.

Could you please provide any typical or maximum timing information related to the above items —
especially the time from reset de-assertion to the completion of device initialization?

Thank you very much for your support.

Conor

  • Hello Conor,

    Thank you for reaching out.

I will get back to you by the end on the day tomorrow with my response.

    Thank you and best,

  • Hi Katilynn,

Thank you. I look forward to hearing from you.

  • Hello Conor,

Thank you for your patience for my response.

The TPS25751S is powered from either the VIN_3V3 or VBUS (Dead-Battery Mode), with the normal power supply coming from LDO3V3.

According to the data sheet the POR is asserted when a 'good supply' is present. My understanding is that the POR is asserted/deserted based on the voltage range that powers on the device from VIN_3V3. This can be found in 6.6 Power Supply Characteristics Table for the threshold for the VIN_3V3, see screenshot below.

Once the TPS25751 is powered on, it typically takes ~500ms to boot the configuration from EEPROM.

Let us know if you have any further questions or concerns!

    Thank you,

    Katilynn
