AFE439A2: inconsistency of pin names between datasheet and ultralibrarian

Part Number: AFE439A2
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE639D2, AFE539A4

Hi TI,

I find the pin names for Pin 1,2 and 11  of the AFE439A2 are defined differently in its datasheet and in the related CAD support website.

What attacted below is a comparison for your information.

If you also believe it is an inconsistency, please make it right.

BTW, does IT have a shareable ref. design for AFE439A2?

Best Regards!

  • Hi Wallace,

It does look like it's incorrect. I believe the person putting together the UltraLibrarian used the AFE639D2 pinout since it's the first in the datasheet. I'll submit the correction, thank you for catching it.

We do not have an EVM specifically for the AFE439A2. We do have an EVM f or the AFE539A4, which is similar. AFE539A4EVM Evaluation board | TI.com You can replace the DUT with the AFE439A2, but do note the labels will be wrong due to the pinnout difference. Other notes from the engineer who designed the EVM:

They would just need to be aware that the labels on the board won't match the pinout. And AFE439A2 has a PWM output meaning it's shared with the SPI/I2C pins. So when they are programming the EVM they need the jumper that enables/disables the level shifters closed but to see the PWM output they'd need to remove that jumper. Same with during programming they need to pull the MODE/VREF pin low and then pull it high to see the PWM output

    Thanks,
    Erin
