Hi Pranav,
We already have python sample code for DAC81401 and it's family devices. DAC81416 and DAC81401 have similar read/write patterns. You can download the code, modify it as per your needs and then use it.

I tried running the function regRead, the python program returns 0xFFFF for any register I try to read.
I have not explored other functions yet.
Is there a ready to use code specifically for DAC81416
EDIT: Also I am running this code on 64bit windows PC

In normal operating condition around 25C, output should be below 1.34V.

Thanks Sanjay, what I noticed is TEMPOUT outputs 5V when DAC is in power down state and outputs a value as shown in this screenshot when the DAC is in power on state. Is that a feature of the EVM or the DAC itself? I am not able to find any information regarding this in the DAC EVM guide or the DAC datasheet.
Looks like this pin is pulled high to VDD when the DAC is in power down state, could you please escalate this to the concerned person so that the datasheet or the EVM can include this information?

Here is a screenshot of the DAC EVM schematic, DAC_CS is connected to ADBUS1

However in the libMPSSE - SPI library the documentation says only ADBUS3, ADBUS4, ADBUS5, ADBUS6, ADBUS7 can be used for chip select

Further the python code you have provided sets the CS line to ADBUS3, in generic_spi.py line 46
Despite all this, the DAC EVM works through the GUI as expected, this makes me suspect a mistake in the schematic drawing. Could you please provide me with the right schematic so that I can write my own python code?
This is not acceptable and frustrating; I have spent a considerable amount of my time trying to get this DAC to work only to realize there could be mistakes in the python code and/or the schematics.
Please get back to me at the earliest.
