ADS1292: Application issue.

Part Number: ADS1292
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TS5A3160

Hi Team,

1. Please confirm if ADS1292 supports power down mode. Currently, when entering power down mode by pulling down the reset, it was found that the current on the digital power supply is still 30+uA. Does this meet the theoretical value? If it does not meet the requirements, what is the correct operation method for power down? What is the approximate range of power consumption after entering POWER down mode?
2. Is there any recommended application solution for ADS1292 to perform contact wake-up after entering low power consumption.
3. Is it feasible to use an analog switch (TS5A3160) to switch and disconnect the analog front-end and electrode connection during electrode contact wake-up?

  • Hi Reed,

Do you still need help with these questions?

Analog and digital power consumption is listed on page 10 of the data sheet in the Electrical Characteristics table. Please note that the digital power does not include the internal oscillator.

ADS1292 does not have a method in which it can detect electrode connection and wake up from low-power mode.

    Regards,

    Ryan
